When it comes to eco-friendly, the Sleep Judge review reports "If you’re concerned about the chemicals used when processing the materials for your Helix Mattress, you may be reassured by the CertiPUR-US stamp of approval. Both the dynamic foam and the poly-foam used in your mattress are considered safe by the third-party program. These foams are made without harmful chemicals, and it has a minimal impact on the air quality in your home."
The Helix Sleep websites also says, " All foams used in our products are certified to be safe for both you and the environment and are certified by the CertiPUR-US® program, which guarantees that they are made without any harmful chemicals including ozone depleters, PBDE flame retardants, mercury, lead, heavy metals, formaldehyde, and have extremely low impact on indoor air quality."
Helix Sleep mattresses are a mixture of the more eco-friendly latex and the less eco-friendly memory foam – The company calls it the Helix Dynamic Foam. So, it’s somewhere in-between if you’re looking to get an eco-friendly mattress. The materials used in the dynamic foam and the polyurethane foams have no odor and do not emit VOC’s(Volatile Organic Compounds) such as formaldehyde and PBDE flame retardant that could negatively affect indoor air quality. As a result, they are also CertiPUR-US certified as well.
